LLAC 2021 Conference Registration

This conference has three areas of focus – Justice, Education and Healthcare. As an attendees, all areas of focus have been organized and scheduled consecutively to provide an opportunity for a well rounded education in language justice and to enhance advocacy across all three area. With diverse list of topics and experts in each area of focus the conference theme it will addressed in each presentation for unique experience. It will be held virtually and scheduled on Central Time (CDT), it accessible from anywhere.

Who should attend this conference? This conference is open to any interested party. If you are an advocate, community members, service & healthcare providers, educators, administrators, policy makers and interpreters/translators this is the conference for you! Interpretation and closed captioning will available.

How much does it cost to register to attend this conference? The cost and registration fee is $50.00. Advanced registration is required to attend the conference.

Continuing Educational Units (CEUs, CMEs, CLEs) for several professions represented in each area of focus will be available at a cost of $75.00 (includes the registration and CEU). Continuing educations units are available from the following organizations:

CCHI – Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters

IMIA – International Medical Interpreters Association

NBCMI – National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters

Jefferson Parish Public School System

Louisiana State Bar Association

Tulane University School of Social Work

Updates for Conference Attendees:

We look forward to seeing you virtually on Wednesday, July 21th and Thursday, July 22nd for the Louisiana Language Access Coalition Conference 2021. We are very excited to have the opportunity to have you join us for our Biennial Conference.

Just as a reminder, you are registered to participate for both days of this year’s conference on Zoom. We ask that all attendees follow the schedule and participate fully engaged in this opportunity hear from the presenters and engage with other participants for the best experience possible . This ensures we get the most from the conference that comes only every other year. More importantly to respect the presenter’s preparation and time. We hope that everyone of you has to the opportunity to meet someone new working in language access and encouraged in your dedication towards justice in our community. All sessions times are on Central Time.

Accessing the Conference on Zoom:
The conference will be held virtually on Zoom with several breaks throughout the day. Each day we will begin with an opportunity to network with each other and meet some of our sponsors. So grab some coffee or your morning constitutional beverage turn on the your video feature mingle from 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM.  Our conference is sponsored by Ochsner Health this year and they will be available for any technical support for Zoom.

You will receive a separate email than your registration with the conference Zoom link and connection information.  For the best conference experience plan to attend on your laptop, desktop or tablet (not by calling in). We will also be “on-call” by email on the day of the conference for any immediate assistance.

All Continuing Education Units:
For participants who have registered to receive any of the continuing educational units offered by the conference it is important that you attend the sessions certified by organization granting the credits. We will certify you attendance to each session that is required by using the Zoom user participation data. Please make sure to log-in with the email account you have provided for registration to the conference and ensure that your name is reflected on your Zoom profile.

Certificates of participation to the conference without continuing education unit credit are also available and will be emailed in the days following the conference upon request.

Presentations & Materials:
Presentations and handout featured during each session will be available if the speaker has authorized the distribution and/or provided them. We will record all sessions and make them available at later date. We will not be able to provide certification of attendance for viewing the recordings after the conference dates.
